Hi Jeremy, it all depends on what you want to do these for. If you are looking to sell books, I don't recommend publishing a coffee table book - way too expensive, managing and story inventory is expensive, and getting distribution is almost impossible these days. Print on demand books are great if you are looking for a personal keepsake or to sell in low volume, a lot of places offer this sort of service including Bay Photo - but print on demand is much more expensive per book, of course. I publish ebooks all the time, which is inexpensive and relatively easy. Once again, it all depends on why you want to publish the books.
Hi Ian, thanks for the info... For me personally I think my goal is to not just publish it for photos, but also including inspirational type things as well, stories, life experiences, things of that nature. I'm not sure if that changes things or not. If I get more experience, I'd love to do educational ebooks (like you guys do, I have several of them actually), but that's a little bit in the future.
@Jeremey Voit It's really a question of the numbers of books you are looking to publish. Print on demand is great if you are looking at low volume - publishing just for fun, essentially. Ebooks are great if you don't need to have a physical book.
