I had driven by this walnut tree many times over the years. Usually, this tree is not by itself enough to draw your attention immediately. A couple of weeks ago, I happened by just as the sun reached a point in the sky above the hills where it backlit the tree and made it glow, in comparison to its surroundings. Last night I was going to shoot Neowise, but cloud cover most of the day changed those plans. I decided to run up the road to see if I could catch the sun peeking through the clouds in the evening. Luckily, a break in the clouds coincided with the sun being in the right spot and once again bathed this black walnut in light. So, I offer the "much-maligned center composition"!
