This shot was taken near the town of Olancha, California on a dry lake bed. I was drawn to this composition by the interesting shadows cast by the Joshua Tree and by the sand swirling in the distance. Some low clouds helped temper the sun and I was able to capture this in one set of five focus stacked images.
Love the thoughtful composition: Center stage Joshua tree with shadows, leading lines, horizontal "layering" of the elements in the distance, placement of the sun, complementary colors.
