I took this photo on my trip to Iceland in 2017 and re-processed it recently. This is the famous black sand beach in early morning. Nikon D750, Nikkor 16-35, f11, 1/40 sec, ISO 100. Any C&C is highly appreciated.

This is a very high contrast scene, the kind that is so hard to photograph and process. To me somehow the two parts of the image don't seem to come together. There is the dark part in the background with the blue icebergs. Then there is the bright part in gold tones with an iceberg that is very bright. It feels like two different pictures that aren't united. Perhaps processing it in HDR or with luminosity masks might make it more coherent. It's a beautiful scene and somehow I think there must be a way to bring it together. Just my impressions. Feel free to disagree.
Beautiful...the title says it all. Nice lines leading into the image, and rocks creating a triangular shape for the eye to follow around.
If you have access to Lightroom Classic, there is a Graduated Filter tool that can really help with these high contrast scenes. It is a little tricky to use, but with only a little practice (and 20 minutes of YouTube), you can solve a lot of these kinds of contrast issues
Consider also cropping out some of the sky on the top and some of the dark left side to move that excellent diamond leftward.
Great conditions and really nice use of the light! The foreground is powerful with the ice catching the light and glowing and the reflected light in the water channels is leading the eye into that amazing sunset. Next time just eliminate anything that isn't helping to create visual flow in the scene. Shooting this vertically would have tied the image foreground and background nicely together. I've included a cropped version for example.
A really great solution!
Wow Michael, a very high contrast shot. The content of the photo is just fabulous and you have a lot to work with. I would have cropped some off the left hand of the shot to reduce the dark areas and used the gradient filter in Lightroom Classic to brighten up the remaining dark area as they are just to dark for me personally. The ice should really pop and you might want to put a mask on the ice to brighten them up so they just jump out of the photo. Great job with the photo.
Wow, Michael, I was struck immediately by how your composition and mine have a similar compositional thrust. No diamonds for me, though! I enjoyed the scene quite a bit, though I also see the points of some of the other comments. If I were so presumptuous as to suggest anything, it would be to keep the horizontal format and use the 'diamond' to give you a diagonal balance to the bright sky, using the water streams as leading lines. HOWEVER, it's your image and as I said it's a beautiful scene the way it is.
