I first went back to Croatia in May 2014 with my wife. I was born in Zagreb, have travelled and worked around the world but always felt trepidation about going back to Croatia. Many things shaped that fear, mainly attitudes of my parents. But when I went back I found a beautiful country, recovering from war and ethnic tensions, but also friendly people, wilderness and thoroughly modern cities. Rastoke is about 25 kilometres from the world famous Plitvice Lakes national park. It is a small village with multiple streams braided with houses and reaching a climax in a series of water falls. This was take on a Samsung NX30 at 60mm equivalent 1 second exposure and f20 for depth of field (no tripod available thank you stabilisation.
