This photo was made during a brief trip to Zion National Park in February of 2016. On one of our two afternoons there, my buddy and I hiked up the Hidden Canyon Trail, which takes one from the canyon floor to high up the canyon wall opposite from Angel's Landing. The trail is steep at times, and in some places, stairs have been cut into the trail to help. I made this photo at one such spot, where some sunlight was breaking through to illuminate the trail. I was attracted to the mood created by this moment of warm light on what was overall an overcast, gray afternoon. The photo was made with a Canon 60D and Canon EF-S 15-85mm lens set at 15 mm. Exposure was 1/15 sec, F4, ISO 200.
