Before on the way heading to Munising to join Ian's Lake Superior workshop, my friend and I decided to catch sunrise at Pres Isle Park, which is northwest of Marquette itself on an oval-shaped peninsula reaching out into Lake Superior. When we got there around 7 am, the park was still not open for cars. We carried our photo gears and rushed walking more than 45 minutes to get the Black Rocks' location right before sunrise. Our effort was paid off.
