I have been out of action for nearly 6 weeks due to an ankle injury. So, have been revisiting some of my old images from my Canada Tour. The Morant’s Curve is a bend in the railway that runs between Banff and Lake Louise. We waited awhile for the train to arrive. The motion movement seen in the train was edited in PS (I'm not an expert in PS - just learning. Thought I'll give it a go).

Nice, @Mary Gomez-Jackson
Well, Mary, you did this PS edit really well, to say at least. It needs just a bit of knowledge of layers and masking until you can add this motion to the train behind the trees. At first glance I tried to find some movements in the foreground trees, as I presumed a long time exposure. But now I've got it. Of course these trains do not run fast enough to bring such a strong motion blur into any capture… 😉 What I like here is the scenery of the green forest with the blue hills at the horizon. Did you elaborate this into a separate capture (without the tree or even without the railway)?
Without starting a fight.......Honestly, that's not what I'm here for 😎
But I have to ask.....???
Why do folks automatically think everything is a photoshop masterpiece??
I live not too far from this photo location and know for a fact that this is a very easy extended exposure shot.
There are multiple trains passing this location every day and it is right next to the Trans Canada Highway in Banff National Park, for a relatively easy step out of your car and wait for a train kind of image.
Nicely done Mary!!
Hi Craig, thanks a million for your honesty. I was afraid of being honest in this forum, but oh! what the heck eh! It is good to get positive feedback. I am from Australia, so visiting this place again would not be possible anytime in the near future. Agree with you, could have easily done in camera; I didn't know how to at that time. But, now I do! Whilst I am very much "what I see is what I would edit and keep"; for this image and for the fun of it; I wanted to give this image a bit of motion blur, hence the edit in PS. Much appreciated for taking the time to provide your thoughts.
Hi Chris, thanks muchly for taking the time to provide your feedback. I am going to give it another go with the edits and take on your tips. This is one image, as attached is the original image edited in LR.
Morant's Curve is definitely an iconic image.
Been here a few times myself as it is not too far from my home.
Nicely done, Mary!!
