This is one of my very first trials in HDR – but still one which shows clearly what this technique can bring out of a somehow rather "flat" scenery. I captured it in 2017 with the tiny but great Sony Alpha 6000 with 5 brackets, merged in Aurora and edited in Capture One 20.
So I submit it here for one of Ian's next Photo Critiques and hope it will make it. To comply with his instructions: The 5 brackets were shot in ISO 100, aperture 8.0 and exposures of 125/90/60/50/30. When I'm out for making (not taking) pictures I usually have at least my small gorilla tripod with me (and my FX-Nikon). But here I came across this scenery without any warnings so I just pressed my Sony firmly on the railing of a nearby bridge – of course, Ian, I could have tried to get even lower to bring the foreground better in view, but there wasn't any way to stand on the water down there under the bridge...

I find this really charming! You have the clouds and cloud reflections all bringing your gaze back to the church. All is very sharp with details throughout. The green grass is just a bit over saturated for my taste. Would love to visit there...
