I stood on the south rim of the Grand Canyon as a late afternoon microburst developed on the north side near the opening into north Bright Angel canyon. I set up my lightning trigger as I noticed numerous cloud to cloud flashes. There were then several minutes of intense cloud to ground strikes, with this one illuminating part of the upper rim with a bright circle of light.
