Great shot, Bob. I love these storm pics, and the BW rendition suits your shot well. My experience with some of these storms is that the color of the moment is often rather subdued, so BW is great choice.

My determination to process any image as monochrome is based on Ansel Adams advice: "If the color in the field of view is not important or supportive of the subject/composition, or it is distracting in any way, then convert to B&W." He did shoot in color when appropriate. Once in the field, working with a well-known color-only photographer who wanted to learn B&W, he noted that her compositions were based on color, not tones and he suggested she learn "to see" in B&W.
That is an amazing photograph. Congrats on a great capture.
