I've been meaning to do a first post for a while. Thanks to Ian et al for getting this rolling, i hope it will be a first rate location to learn, be inspired and share so we all grow and develop in our shared passion :)
Below is an image of Buacheille Etive Mor - a lump of rock at the entrance to Glens Coe and Etive. It has a charisma most mountains lack. I wanted to portray its resistance to everything thrown at it - it is shot thousands of times a year, but often with adornments and additions from the surrounding landscape. On this day I felt it owned the image all by itself. So, critique and comments are more than welcome.
thanks for viewing
I think it's very powerful. Great image.
Thanks Frances - revision below following Craig's input :)
I think the sky is SUPERB and the sharp detail is excellent, but that nearly black foreground is tough to look at. Can you crop it down some?
Cheers Craig - I can. I also find that when I export to a jpg images darken down a bit. Or I just imagine it all. I'll pop another version up
Here's #2 - lost some distractions, shortened foregrounbd, lightened a bit and added a touch of clarity. Truer to the moment I feel - thank you. Better??
Yes! There are also some details in the foreground now.
