My photography has been influenced by traditional Chinese landscape drawings, in which artists achieved the illusion of 3D depth partly by layering mountain ridges from foreground to background. The Huangshan Mountains in China were a source of many of these drawings. The Huangshan Mountains are famous for their steep ridges, cloud formations, and bonsai-like trees. While hiking in these mountains, this scene reminded me of traditional drawings. Because the clouded lighting was very low contrast, I increased contrast during processing to bring out the layers in this image.
What a lovely photograph!
Thank you
Bill, this is a fantastic shot. Excellent composition and processing. Great feeling of depth. This would look great as a large print.
