This blue hour portrait of Ragged Top in Ironwood Forest National Monument in southern Arizona was taken last spring on an outing where I was exploring in the hopes of finding just such a vantage point. (It also gave me a nice chance to drive my truck in the dirt!) I went back a few days later, but other than that have not been back since, something that I need to rectify soon! In addition to wanting to capture some spring wildflowers, I would like to see summer monsoons from the same spot. I gave this photograph a fair amount of love in both Lightroom and Affinity Photo; the latter involved a lot of manipulation of channels (like multiplying the red channel with the inverse of the blue channel to make a mask for one curve adjustment layer, then using the inverse mask for another curve adjustment layer). I may write up a post on my blog of how I went about it. Is anyone interested?
