As Hurricane Isaias ripped through New York and showered the state with rain, I assumed the local rivers would be raging. The weekend forecast called for dense fog, so I thought... a raging gorge shrouded in misty fog --- it's a no brainer. I set out at 3:30am, drove north about an hour through plenty of dreamy fog only to arrive to find no fog and no flow. Sometimes you just have to make the best of what you're presented with.

A nice image even without the fog.
This is the kind of wonderful scenery that we never see in the Midwest. The vertical has great leading lines. I really like the pop of color in the background. The two elements lead the eye from large to small and from cool to warm. In a perfect world, I wonder if bringing out the color in the background, slightly lightening the center distant trees and a small crop from the bottom would make it even better.
Really like how you take me on a journey up the spillway and into the far far distance. Great shot, fog or no fog.
I really like the vertical picture. The parallel shape of the foreground water with the triangle opening in the front is very pleasing to the eye. Also, the way this water is glowing draws you into the picture and from there on. Really great job even with no fog!
