Late afternoon light strikes an extensive, linear tufa formation under a dramatic, cloud-filled sky, in Trona Pinnacles, a National Natural Landmark in the Searles Lake Basin of the California Desert Conservation Area. The foreground, including the pinnacles, was processed with an InfraRed filter. The warm glow of the pinnacles is rendered very light in monochrome. The sky was processed with a High Contrast Red filter, rendering the blues as black in monochrome. EF 28-70mm @ 37mm; f/22 @ 1/50 sec, +1 EV, ISO 100; Auto exposure, AV mode; Spot metering; Auto WB
Love the dramatic radial pattern formed by the clouds!
Thank you, Ian. I was amazed at how large the clouds were, yet remained as separate rows for quite a distance.
