Eyes are incredibly expressive and can help you tell a story with your wildlife photos. After watching a pair of lionesses take down a wildebeest one morning in the Masai Mara of Kenya, we stayed to watch them eat. Which is, to say the least, not a pleasant sight! But, every now and then one of the lionesses would pause and look up to give us a brief, curious glance. I zoomed in tight, waiting for the moment, but it was difficult to capture because the lions' gaze didn't rest on me for more than a second or two. I managed to get a few decent portraits, until finally everything came together perfectly when I received this intent and bloody stare. Her eyes say everything!
